CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--For the first time since 2010, the West Lyon Wildcats are Iowa High School Football state champions.
After throwing an early interception for a touchdown, and facing a 7-0 deficit, quarterback Brandon Snyder and the Wildcats dominated the remainder of the game and cruised to a 49-7 victory.
Snyder scored the first touchdown of the day for West Lyon, keeping it 34 yards on an option and knotting the game at 7.
In the second quarter, the quarterback would take one 60 yards to the end zone and make it 28-7. He had over 180 rushing yards in the first half alone.
The Wildcats would go into half up 42-7 over the second-ranked Bears and win 49-7.
West Lyon ends its season at 14-0 and went wire-to-wire as the top-ranked team in Class A.
