McCOOK LAKE, S.D.--After winning the first volleyball state championship in school history Saturday night, Dakota Valley had a celebration Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers beat Sioux Falls Christian in the semifinals Friday, in a win that meant something extra. The Chargers were 15-0 against DV since 2008, including wins in last year's state championship match and twice earlier this year.
Although the team was confident after that win, they still had to dig deep said Rick Pruett, Panther Head Coach. Pruett said his team was physically tired after the five-set match Friday night and had to dig deep against Winner in the championship.
Hannah Bauer, Jayde Bergmann, and Lindsey Smith were named to the all-tournament team following the match Saturday night.
