On December 5, 2013, Cleveringa Excavate, an Alton-based excavating company, was dredging a pond near Orange City when they found a car at the bottom of it.
Once the car was found, workers called the Sioux County dive team to help pull the car out.
"One of the dive team members went out on to the ice and in to the water, hooked it up and we connected the cable to a chain and ran it to an excavator and it was able to lift it out of the muck and water and set it up on the shore, so we can lift it up," said Aaron Huyzenga of C&H Body Repair.
At this point, officials are only are still trying to piece everything together.
"We're not sure of how the vehicle got there, other than the fact that it was stolen from Dordt College in Sioux Center in 1999," Jim Pottebaum, Orange City Police Officer
If you have any information concerning what happened to this car, you're encouraged to contact Orange City Police.
