TAMPA, Fla.--Jeremy Hill carried for 216 yards and two touchdowns as No. 16 LSU defeated Iowa 21-14 in the Outback Bowl on Wednesday.
The Hawkeyes struggled to move the ball on the ground, totaling just 76 rushing yards on 31 carries.
Starting quarterback Jake Rudock left the game between the third and fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury. Before exiting the game he had completed just nine of 22 attempts with an interception.
Backup C. J. Beathard threw an interception deep in LSU territory that led to a Hill touchdown. He also threw a touchdown to Kevonte Martin-Manley for the second Iowa touchdown of the game.
The Hawkeyes finish the season 8-5.
