SIOUX CITY, Iowa--Two weeks ago, Waterloo demolished Sioux City 7-0. Tonight the Blackhawks came to the Tyson Events Center and the Musketeers got some revenge.
Trailing 3-0 heading to the third period, the Muskies tied the game up to force overtime. After a scoreless extra period, Joel L'Esperance scored the game winner in the shootout, giving Sioux City a 4-3 win.
Jake Montgomery started the scoring for Sioux City with an even-strength goal. Then Neal Pionk and Waltteri Hopponen scored less than two minutes apart to tie things up. Montgomery and Pionk both finished with two points on the night.
The Muskies (27-13-1) remain a point behind Sioux Falls for third place in the West. They host Fargo on Tuesday night.
