DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Des Moines.
Des Moines police says the Valentine's Day crash involved a 52-year-old woman who was struck as she crossed a street on foot. The vehicle did not slow down or stop after the collision.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, later died at a nearby hospital.
A witness told police that the vehicle was a mid-size car that may now have damage to its front or windshield. Authorities are asking the public to come forward with any information that may identify the vehicle or the driver.
